Finally
I got a job in downtown Des Moines at Gannett. I am currently getting trained to tone images for the Des Moines Register and other publications. I plan to do some freelance design in the morning, since I have late shifts at Gannett. It is pretty exciting to have a steady income now. I plan to buy an imac whenever Apple updates them. Also, I am going to buy CS4, so expect a lot more posts of cool stuff I will be working on.
Lake of the Ozarks
I went down to the Ozarks to stay at a friend’s lake house. I did some tubing… without falling off. We ate a bunch of food and did fireworks. I didn’t do any lake photos, but here are some from around the house. Enjoy

It is also a cookie jar, the head and hat come off.

Crystal Cave
Last weekend I went to a wedding in Wisconsin and on the way home to Iowa I stopped and took a tour of Crystal Cave. I learned a lot about caves and I got some pretty neat photos. Check em out!

Sidebar
I am currently working on moving the info from my about page to the sidebar. I think it will help out a bit with my navigation. I don’t know much about code, but I am learning.
In other news, I am still looking for a job. I have applied for about 10 other jobs since my last post. I have only had one interview. I guess it didn’t go well. haha.
With so much time on my hands I just sit around and find bad logos and try to make them a little better. I was getting my oil changed yesterday and I saw the Interstate Batteries logo. I stared at it for a couple minutes and then I decided that I was going to update it. Heres what I came up with in about half an hour.
Revenge of the Fallen
The movie was great. I saw it at the midnight premiere. I had to sit in the 2nd row though. It was packed. Sitting so close to the action made my eyes hurt, but it was worth it. The movie inspired me to make a transformers style logo for myself.

my current situation
I am working a lot more at Cell City now. I am making all the stuff for their new satellite company. So it’s kind of a part time job, which has led me to another possible part time job. Hopefully, these 2 jobs will work together.
I need to start getting money to save up for when I move in with my girlfriend. We have everything we need for moving in day. I just need to have a steady job to sign a lease. I also need to build my credit up, because I don’t have any.
My girlfriend is on a cruise right now. I never thought i could miss anyone this much. Time flows differently without her.
While her and her family are gone, I am watching their cat. I watched 2 other cats last weekend. So I guess I am a cat sitter now. If you have any pets that need fed while you’re gone and you live in or around Des Moines, Iowa, I am the man.
Monster
monster.com sucks. I can’t upload my nicely designed resume, because they don’t allow pdfs, so I had to make a crappy one in Word… how is that supposed to get me a job?
Monster energy drink is tasty. I don’t drink it that much, because I try to eat healthy. I love the orange juice one.
Also, there is a game called Monsters by PixelJunk that I used to play on PS3. It rocks, I beat the 1st island with my girlfriend. Now we’re almost done with the 2nd island but its really hard.
